Bought second hand in Edinburgh in the early eighties with hard case during Edinburgh Folk Festival. Has become my trademark symbol and sound. There are better mandolins but this one “just feels right”
Also, although the neck on the Fender is better – I can get a great dynamic range from this one. I love to play this one LOUD and I can play as hard as I like but it still stays in tune (except the broken strings – of course)
Has survived 3 full re-frets (at least) , one partial refret and dressing and one major accident – see post – “The Day the Mandolin Died”
